Celiac Cruise for a Cause
When we launched Celiac Cruise, we knew there were four important elements we wanted to deliver to our guests and community: impeccable safety, incredible food, quality education, and meaningful philanthropy. We are so excited that we are now able to deliver all four elements, in a big way.
Celiac Cruise is thrilled to announce our collaboration with the Celiac Disease Program at Boston Children’s Hospital and the Celiac Disease Foundation to raise funds in a national effort to address food insecurity in the celiac disease community. Nearly 25% of families with a child with celiac disease struggle to adequately access gluten-free food, and we are committed to becoming a piece of the solution to this problem.
The gluten-free diet can be up to 1,000% more expensive than a traditional diet, and state and federal aid programs do not take this into account when setting benefit limits for families in need. Together with the Food Equality Initiative, our collaborative efforts will work to deliver food directly to the doorsteps of these families, providing children with celiac disease high-quality, nutritious, and safe foods to supplement their meals. In addition to food, we are also offering nutrition education, community building opportunities, and grassroots advocacy efforts to make sure these families have access to every possible opportunity to thrive.
We, at Celiac Cruise, couldn’t think of a better way to help those in our community who need it most.
We hope you’ll join us.
